The mountain climbing ability of this cycle was confirmed when French racer, Bertrand Maucout won the steep climb up the Alpe d'Huez known as 'Montee Electrique' using this bicycle, the climb of 1860 mtrs altitude, stage lengths 16 kms, 21 climbing slopes of average incline 7.9% is a real test of the bike. Maucout broke the world record for the climb and finished 91 secs in front of second placed finisher at an average speed of 27 kph.
