POWABYKE - THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE INNOVATOR

Powabyke's purpose-designed electric bikes offer all the benefits of traditional cycling - the freedom, the convenience, the practicality - but with an important difference: none of the effort. That's because you pedal only when you want to. The rest of the time, you can let the 200 watt motor take the strain.

Powabykes have sold in their thousands, transforming the lives of people looking for an inexpensive, reliable and carefree way of getting from A to B. We're also proud to serve a number of local authorities and Police forces, so we know our bikes are up to the test of being used every day, in all weathers and to their full capacity.

The running cost of a Powabyke is incredibly low: about 1.5 pence per mile. With a range of around 20 miles per charge* and a regulated top speed of 15mph, you won't even need a licence** to ride it. And parking is free! People who never thought they would ride again are riding to work, school, college, the library, the local shops and even to the local pub!

Welcome to the wonderful world of POWABYKE. We hope you enjoy your visit.

* Range dependent on rider's weight, type of terrain and weather conditions.

Cost Effective

Travelling the city is more expensive than ever before. The rising cost of fuel and public transport, let alone the environmental cost of fuel-powered vehicles, make it increasingly difficult to use these travel options.

Add to that the issues of overcrowding and late-running buses, trains and trams; and moreover potential parking fines and congestion charges.

With X-byke, you can freely travel the city in a seriously cost effective way. Our research shows that on average, it costs only 1.5pence per mile to travel.

Moreover, X-byke qualifies for the government's 'Cycle-to-Work' schemes, meaning that you will be allowed to purchase the bike and offset the cost against your income tax, making a saving of between 20-50% dependent on your tax code.

Your employer would then make a saving of around 12% of the National Insurance they would usually have to pay.

Have a look at how this compares with other methods of transport. For the purpose of this comparison, we have taken a commutable travel distance of 5 miles (that's like travelling from Waterloo to Canary Wharf in London during Congestion Charging hours).
